Review: The Organic Candy Factory

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

I love reviewing organic products. Not only do I think that they taste better, but I actually feel much better about eating them! So, I found a company that combines some of my favorite things... Organic Products, and CANDY!

I was sent two different product to try out from The Organic Candy Factory: Sugar Sprinkled Gummy Worms, and Sugar Sprinkled Gummy Cubs.

The Gummy worms were my favorite. The flavors were great! They were Tangerine, Sour Apple, and Pink Grapefruit. Yum! The texture was a little different than other gummy worms that I have had. They weren't "chewy". If you have ever had the Orange Slice candies, then they are like that texture. Either way, they tasted amazing.

The Sugar Sprinkled Gummy Cubs were just as good, and had the same texture as the Gummy Worms, but the flavors were different. They were Blackberry, Strawberry, Raspberry and Cherry! These were also really delicious, and my husbands favorite!

The Organic Candy Factory Candies contain NO:

  • Gelatin
  • Gluten
  • Pesticides
  • Preservatives
  • Nuts
  • Tree Nuts
  • Artificial Colors, Flavors, or Sweeteners
  • Corn Syrup
They are also Vegan and made right here in the USA!

I was completely satisfied with these candies! They are super addicting!

Review: Shake The Crave!

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

I have tried lots of diets. LOTS of them. I never have the willpower to stick to them because I feel like I am missing out of every delicious food that everyone else is eating. I get cravings, who doesn't? One of my biggest cravings though? Chocolate. And Pizza. Now, I am sure a Pizza flavored Shake would be absolutely disgusting, so I will settle for a chocolate shake.

I absolutely DREADED trying these shakes, I wanted to wait until the right time. I finally gave Shake the Crave a try. Oh man, I wish I hadn't waited so long! I tried the chocolate one first, because, you know, Chocolate! I was expecting something completely different when I tried these.. I thought it would taste "diety". Nope. Not even close! The chocolate was delicious! It was actually really rich and chocolatey. Oh it was great! I made mine in my shaker cup (Cyclone Cup) and it mixed well.

Then I tried the vanilla. I didn't think it could be better tasting than the chocolate, but it was! The vanilla was definitely my favorite!

About 30 minutes after finishing my very first shake, my body felt so much more energized, like I had just taken a nap! These were BY FAR the very best "Diet" shakes that I have ever tried! One of the best parts about these is that they are made with 100% Pure ingredients!

Review: Paleo Meenut Butter

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

A lot of you know that I love eating and reviewing nut butters. Growing up, the only kind of "nut butter" I ever had was Peanut Butter. However, since starting my blog, and looking for healthier products, I have experienced a lot of different kinds and flavors of nut butters.

I was able to review Paleo Meenut Butter, and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. This is thicker and more coarsely ground than the other butters I have tried in the past. The best part about this is that it is handmade. You can tell by the flavor and packaging just how much care went into making this product. I loved it on my wholegrain Rice Thins.

The ingredients in this ROCKED!

  • California Almonds
  • Organic Coconut
  • California Organic Walnuts
  • Pecans
  • Organic Macadamia Nuts
  • Organic Golden Flax Seeds
  • Organic Sunflower Seeds
  • Sonoma Sea Salt
You can also add Honey or maple to this to make it sweeter, but I liked it just how it was. I could never go back to regular peanut butter after trying and experiencing the flavors of other nut butters. This is the closest thing to a more "chunky" butter that I have tried, since it is coarsely ground. I loved it.

Review: Skout Organic Trailbars and Trailpaks

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

I usually am not a huge fan of energy type bars, mostly because they are always dry and tasteless. I was very wary of trying these bars, because of all of the bad experiences I have had previously. I tried one of the chocolate flavored ones first, because I was craving something sweet.

When I blog, I blog at nighttime, and I end up craving sweet things. Instead of eating a candy bar, or something unhealthy, I tried these trail bars, and I have to say, I was very impressed with the flavor, and the texture. These were moist and packed with flavor. They also gave me a boost of energy, and I was able to keep on track while I was writing. I was able to try all five flavors:
- Blueberry Almond
- Apple Cinnamon
- Cherry Vanilla
- Chocolate Coconut
- Chocolate Peanut Butter

These bars are Organic, Vegan, Gluten Free, Non GMO, Dairy and Soy Free, contain naturally occurring Protein, Fiber and vitamins, and contain no refined sugar or fillers.

The other product I was able to review from Skout, was Raw pumpkin seeds. I was very impressed with these! When I was a kid, on Halloween we would toast the pumpkin seeds after we hollowed out of jack o lanterns. After trying these Raw seeds, especially with the flavorings on them, I don't think my plain old toasted seeds will be as satisfying. They are very fresh, and the portion size is quite a lot. If you are feeling the "slump" in the middle of the day, these would be a very good snack. I like to keep these next to my computer if I start to get that "snacky" feeling. They help me curb my appetite, and keep me on track, so I don't have to get up and break my concentration by going and grabbing a snack.

I was able to try all three of the flavors:
- Black Pepper BBQ
- Jalapeno Salsa
- Sea Salt

My favorite flavor was without a doubt, the Black Pepper BBQ. Each serving size contains 10 grams of protein.

I loved both of these products. I would recommend them to anyone. If you are an active hiker, these were made for you, but even if you are a busy mom, looking for a pick me up throughout the day, or accidentally skipped breakfast or lunch, these would be great!

Review: Naked Infusions Gourmet Salsa

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

During the summer, my family tends to have a lot of barbecues, and one of our favorite things to have is chips and salsa to go along with our burgers, or brats. I have tried a lot of different salsa's, and I tend to be very picky.

Naked Infusion's Gourmet Salsa is unlike any salsa I have ever had. They are "Infused" with other flavors. "Ok," you may be thinking, "What's so special about that?" I will tell you. have you ever had salsa infused with the flavor of Garlic? Ok, maybe you have. But I sincerely doubt you have had salsa infused with espresso, or Bleu Cheese. I can hear you all now, "Ew.... Espresso?" Yes! And the best part about these "weird" flavors? They were amazing. Of all of the flavors I tried, I think the espresso was my favorite! The Bleu Cheese was my least favorite, it reminded me of enchilada sauce.
One thing I do have to say, is that if you are looking for a chunky salsa, these are not for you. They have very little chunk to them. The flavors though, are awesome.

I would recommend these to anyone who loves Salsa! The extra "infusions" really kick it up a notch!

Review: Famous Daves

It's Summer! And, being that it is summer, I want a tan! Except, I have a problem... I don't tan, I burn. Badly. Several years ago I was sunburned so badly that it left scars, and ever since then, I have been wary of going out in the sun without sunscreen. And when I am able to get somewhat of a tan on the tops of my shoulders, you can see the scars. Because of that, self tanners are a part of my summer routine. I was super excited to try out Famous Dave's Tanner.

I am also somewhat afraid of "cream/lotion" tanners... because I can never apply them correctly, but Famous Dave's tanner came with a Mit to apply the cream with.... Oh boy, I wish I would of had one of those years ago... and I wouldn't have walked around looking like an oompa loompa. using the mit, I was able to apply the product easily, and it actually turned out beautifully! I did not end up with streakiness or globs of uneven color.

Famous Dave's even sent an instructional card telling me how many pumps of the product to apply where. The color turned out beautifully! I really looks like I spent hours in the sun tanning, when in reality it only took me about ten minutes to apply from the comfort of my living room. I usually only apple self tanner's to my arms and chest, but I was confident enough to try this on my legs! I have never been happier with the way a tanner turned out!

I also noticed that when applying this tanner, it didn't have the sickly sweet "banana" smell that most other tanners have. Which is a super plus for me, because I absolutely hate that smell!

Famous Dave's tanner even has Argon Oil in it!

This is a wonderful tanner! 10/10!

Review: Sweet Debbie's Organic Treats Cookbook

I love to bake, but sometimes when I get the mood to bake, I lack inspiration and recipes. I usually end up making a boxed cake mix (Bleck). I was so happy to be able to review Sweet Debbie's Cookbook. There are so many wonderful recipes in this. I am very excited for this fall so I can make my family to pumpkin muffins. I also loved that in the front of the book, the ingredients she uses in her recipes are all explained. What a great book!

Review: Solana Gold

I was given the opportunity to try a few products from Solana Gold: Natural Apple Juice, and Two flavors of organic applesauce- Blackberry and Apricot.

My favorite product that I received was the natural apple juice. It tasted just like apple cider! In my part of the state, when Fall comes around, the apple harvest starts, and apple cider and fresh doughnut holes are the best part about it. This is the perfect way to enjoy fall without it actually BEING Fall!

Squeezed from fresh, whole, double-washed, ripe organic apples. This 100% organic apple juice is unsweetened, and is a real treat. Solana Gold apples are grown without the use of synthetically compounded fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.

Organically grown and processed with no GMO's, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives in accordance with the USDA National Organic Program (NOP)

My favorite flavor of applesauce that i received was the blackberry. This was so yummy! Not to mention, it only contains two ingredients: Organic Apples and Organic Blackberries!! There is not sugar added. The applesauce is vegan, Kosher, Cholesterol Free, and contains no GMO's.

Now that's a slow lane memory, while you're stuck on the freeway. Remember disappearing to the creek in the heat of summer to pick plump, stain-your-fingers blackberries? Wasn't your dog Old Yeller yapping close behind, while Granddad called you to the porch with fresh lemonade?

Well, OK, OK, that was somebody's memory. Heck, you can use it.

So when you're stuck in the fast lane--when the check's due and the kids are cranky--grab some peace for yourself.

Review: Reserveage

I will be the first person to admit, I do not get enough protein in my diet. Which is why Reserveage Grass Fed Whey Protein is perfect for me. Whey is considered the highest quality source of protein and has the highest Biological Value rating of any protein on the market today.

I received two different products, the Whey Protein, and Collagen Replenish. The Whey Protein I received in two different flavors, Chocolate and Vanilla. I personally liked the chocolate flavor better, but the vanilla was also good! I love all things Chocolate. I mixed mine with Water, but you can mix it into your favorite beverage. The flavor was not overpowering, and it was perfectly sweet. Almost like drinking cold hot chocolate.

The Grass Fed Whey Protein contains No added hormones, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors or colors, no added sugar, No GMO ingredients, No Non-Dairy Creamer, and No Soy or Gluten.

“What isn’t in your protein is just as important as what is.”

I was also able to try the Collagen Replenish, which contains Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C. This helps reduce the appearance of Wrinkles, and helps maintain skin’s elasticity. This is a white powder that you can mix into a beverage, or even your yogurt. This product is to help replenish Natural Collagen production.

“When you replenish Collagen proteins, you can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and support natural Collagen production for healthy skin texture.”

I mixed mine into yogurt, and I couldn’t really taste it at all! I will continue to use both of these products daily!
I would give both of these products a 10/10!

Review: Grassfields Cheese

Grassfields Organic Cheeses

I was so excited to be able to try these cheeses! Cheese is honestly one of my favorite foods. I have tried a lot of cheese, but I don’t think I have tried Organic Cheese before, and let me tell you, these were superb! I was sent three different kinds to try.

Gouda:
This was my second favorite cheese that I was sent. I love Gouda! Gouda is a Semi-hard cheese. This particular Gouda was made with 100% raw cow’s milk, from Jersey-Holstein breeds, which are grass-fed. It has a salty, grassy, toffee flavor. This cheese also pairs well with wines such as Pinot Grigio and Merlot. Also, it goes great with Apples, Pears and stone fruits such as Peaches and Plums. Try it melted over Chicken. This cheese was so creamy! The stuff you buy at the grocery store doesn’t hold a candle to this!!

Polkton Corners:
I had never heard of this particular cheese before, but I liked it. It was my least favorite of the ones I received. Although, my husband, loved this one the most! It is a soft cheese, and it melts in your mouth. This is also made with milk from Grass fed cows. It has a tangy, buttery flavor. It is a bit “strong” tasting, when you eat it by itself. It would go great with Asti and Pinot Noir, also with Juicy fruits. The name of this cheese comes from the long-ago community where the Gassfield’s Farm was located.

Lamont Cheddar:
This was my favorite! This is a hard cheese, that develops sharpness with age. This goes great with Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. You can use this in place of “name brand” cheese. I loved this cheese just on crackers. It was so yummy!

All of their cows are grassfed, which means, no tiny feeding lots with cows up to their knees in their own mess. Their cheeses are all organic!

We believe that intensive rotational grazing of our animals is the best use of the land and the healthiest for our animals. Our dairy herd is composed of Holstein-Jersey-Normandy cross-breds, and we also raise our pigs and chickens on fresh grasses. The quality of their meats and milk begins with rich and nutritious soil, which develops over time from intensive rotational grazing practices and animal husbandry.

This particular business is fairly close to my home, I will most likely be ordering cheese from them in the future, since both my husband and my self fell in love at the first bite.

Is it safe?
There are several things we do to make sure the raw-milk cheese is safe:

1) We keep our cows outside in their natural environment. This keeps them much cleaner, exercized, and healthier than if they were packed together in a barn.
2) When making raw-milk cheese, what makes it cheese is a certain bacteria, or culture. That one culture takes over the whole wheel of cheese, allowing no harmful bacteria to grow in that cheese at all.
3) Our cheeses are regularly tested for any harmful bacteria by our MDA dairy inspector.
4) When we cut up a wheel of cheese, we know that it's a good wheel which the culture has taken over the whole wheel. How do we know? By the smell, the taste, and the texture. If there is more than the intended culture in the wheel of cheese, it will look, smell, or taste wrong to us; and our pigs get to enjoy it.
They also have an Organic "You-Pick" Garden coming in June!

Review: Quinn Popcorn

I had the pleasure of eating the most delicious popcorn I have ever had in my life today. I have Quinn Popcorn to thank for that!

I was very intrigued by this popcorn… it is definitely not your average microwave popcorn. Quinn Popcorn uses a “Three Step System” in preparing your great tasting snack!
First, you pop the corn. Then, you add in the Sunflower Oil, which is high Oleic. Then you add in your flavoring packet.

I received three different flavors: Vermont Maple and sea Salt, Parmesan and Rosemary, & Just Sea Salt. My favorite flavor that I received is the Vermont Maple and Sea Salt. I love kettle corn, the sweet and salty mix, but this flavor knocks it out of the ball park! The blend of flavors that this popcorn contains is absolutely amazing! Add in the maple flavor, and I think I have found the most perfect popcorn!

Quinn Popcorn uses Non-GMO and Organic Popcorn. They use no hydrogenated oil, no preservatives, no diacetyl, and no PFOA’s. It is also Gluten Free.

They also use a bag completely made from paper. There are no chemical coatings and no “scary stuff”. It is also completely compostable. So not only is Quinn popcorn better for you, it’s better for the environment!
