Review: Skout Organic Trailbars and Trailpaks

I usually am not a huge fan of energy type bars, mostly because they are always dry and tasteless. I was very wary of trying these bars, because of all of the bad experiences I have had previously. I tried one of the chocolate flavored ones first, because I was craving something sweet. 

When I blog, I blog at nighttime, and I end up craving sweet things. Instead of eating a candy bar, or something unhealthy, I tried these trail bars, and I have to say, I was very impressed with the flavor, and the texture. These were moist and packed with flavor. They also gave me a boost of energy, and I was able to keep on track while I was writing. I was able to try all five flavors:
- Blueberry Almond
- Apple Cinnamon
- Cherry Vanilla
- Chocolate Coconut
- Chocolate Peanut Butter


 

These bars are Organic, Vegan, Gluten Free, Non GMO, Dairy and Soy Free, contain naturally occurring Protein, Fiber and vitamins, and contain no refined sugar or fillers. 

The other product I was able to review from Skout, was Raw pumpkin seeds. I was very impressed with these! When I was a kid, on Halloween we would toast the pumpkin seeds after we hollowed out of jack o lanterns. After trying these Raw seeds, especially with the flavorings on them, I don't think my plain old toasted seeds will be as satisfying. They are very fresh, and the portion size is quite a lot. If you are feeling the "slump" in the middle of the day, these would be a very good snack. I like to keep these next to my computer if I start to get that "snacky" feeling. They help me curb my appetite, and keep me on track, so I don't have to get up and break my concentration by going and grabbing a snack. 

I was able to try all three of the flavors:
- Black Pepper BBQ
- Jalapeno Salsa
- Sea Salt

My favorite flavor was without a doubt, the Black Pepper BBQ. Each serving size contains 10 grams of protein. 


I loved both of these products. I would recommend them to anyone. If you are an active hiker, these were made for you, but even if you are a busy mom, looking for a pick me up throughout the day, or accidentally skipped breakfast or lunch, these would be great!

Review: Canyon Bakehouse

I will be the first to admit, I always thought Gluten Free goods, would be lacking in flavor. I have tried Gluten free candies, and a couple other products, but never anything that I would eat on a regular basis, until now.

I was sent a few different products to review from Canyon Bakehouse-

7 Grain Bread

Rosemary & Thyme Focaccia

Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Hamburger Buns

I am usually not a huge sandwich fan, because usually the bread I eat, is flat, and when you add mayo or mustard, it turns sort of… mushy. The first product that I tried, was the 7 Grain Bread. I don’t think I have ever had a better bread than this. This was perfect for sandwiches. I raved about this bread. The flavor and texture was absolutely perfect.

The next product I tried was the Rosemary Focaccia bread.  This was my least favorite product. The flavor was good, but I thought it was dry. I added some Olive Oil and sun-dried tomatoes to mine, and that made it exponentially better.

The Cinnamon and Raisin Bread was also very good. I loved this for breakfast. Perfect by itself or just with butter.

The last product I tried was the Hamburger Buns. These were GREAT! They were able to handle a very thick and juicy burger. They didn’t fall apart either.

Canyon Bakehouse products are GMO Free, Gluten Free, Kosher, and Dairy Nut and Soy Free.

I loved their products, and I would switch my everyday bread over to Canyon Bakehouse product in a heartbeat.

Review: Upfront Granola

I received all three flavors of upfront Granola to try: pecans & Almonds, Straight up granola, and Granola with cranberries. My absolute favorite was the granola with Pecans and Almonds. I ate this in my light and fit yogurt for breakfast... and can you say Yum? Because I sure did! I also loved munching this right out of the bag.

Straight up Granola is certified Vegan and is a non GMO product. They use 100% whole grain and are Kosher Certified. This granola is made to order and great with Milk or yogurt. They are portion controlled; they come in a 1/2 cup serving "grab and Go" pouch.

Review: Quinn Popcorn

I had the pleasure of eating the most delicious popcorn I have ever had in my life today. I have Quinn Popcorn to thank for that!

I was very intrigued by this popcorn… it is definitely not your average microwave popcorn. Quinn Popcorn uses a “Three Step System” in preparing your great tasting snack!

First, you pop the corn. Then, you add in the Sunflower Oil, which is high Oleic. Then you add in your flavoring packet.

I received three different flavors: Vermont Maple and sea Salt, Parmesan and Rosemary, & Just Sea Salt. My favorite flavor that I received is the Vermont Maple and Sea Salt. I love kettle corn, the sweet and salty mix, but this flavor knocks it out of the ball park! The blend of flavors that this popcorn contains is absolutely amazing! Add in the maple flavor, and I think I have found the most perfect popcorn!

Quinn Popcorn uses Non-GMO and Organic Popcorn. They use no hydrogenated oil, no preservatives, no diacetyl, and no PFOA’s. It is also Gluten Free.

They also use a bag completely made from paper. There are no chemical coatings and no “scary stuff”. It is also completely compostable. So not only is Quinn popcorn better for you, it’s better for the environment!

Review and Giveaway: True Citrus

It is starting to get warm again, and I cannot be happier. My favorite Summertime drink has got to be Lemonade, which is why I was so excited to be reviewing True Citrus Products!
I received quite a variety of products! I almost consider this the perfect "Summer Starter Kit"!

I received several Spices, and crystalized Citrus products: Orange Ginger, Lemon Pepper, Lime Garlic & Cilantro, Crystallized Lime, and Crystallized Lemon. The seasonings are PERFECT for grilling. I can't wait to put these on my chicken and grill it. I have tasted all of them, and they are certainly good! I also make a lot of guacamole, so I was really excited to receive the Lime and Cilantro flavor! I think these would also be great on Fish. You can use the crystallized citrus on meat or poultry, or on salads and vegetables, or you can reconstitute it and make it into Lemon or Lime juice! Such a smart product!

I think my favorite products that I received from True Citrus were the Drink mix Packets! I love how incredibly easy and portable these are. I was able to review five different flavors: peach lemonade, mango orange, black cherry limeade, original lemonade, and Raspberry Lemonade. I have a tie on my two favorite flavors, between Black Cherry Limeade and Raspberry Lemonade. They are both super yummy! I will definitely be purchasing some of these the next time I go grocery shopping!

I also received a variety of Crystallized Citrus Packets: Lemon, Lime, Orange and Grapefruit! I liked all of these, including the Grapefruit. I have to rave a little bit about the grapefruit flavor. I absolutely HATE fresh grapefruit and grapefruit juice. It is always so bitter, and the smell even makes me sick, but I tried this product so I could give all of you an honest review, and I have to say, I really liked it. I was actually able to enjoy the flavor of Grapefruit without gagging! That is a huge achievement for me. This product gives you the tastes of Grapefruit, and the sweetness of it, and it's not bitter! I love this! These packets can be reconstituted into juice, or used in baking, or just to put directly in your water!

All True Citrus Products are made with Real Lemons, Limes, Oranges and grapefruits juices and oils. They are made with 100% Natural ingredients, and contain NO artificial sweetener's, colors, preservatives, sodium or gluten. They have 25% of an adult's daily vitamin C requirements per serving. Best of all, They contain no GMO's are made only with USA Apples, they contain no High Fructose Corn Syrup, are a great source of Vitamin C, are naturally Gluten and Fat Free, and are Vegan! What a great snack! 
Kids would also enjoy these, and I guarantee you, they wont be trading them away to their friends. If you want to start eating better, start with Big Slice!
