Review & Giveaway: MarketSpice Tea

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

Everyone who has visited my blog already knows that I am a tea fanatic. I would so much rather be drinking a glass of ice-cold tea, than a glass of pop. I suppose this is a good thing, because tea has many natural health benefits, while pop is basically pure sugar with artificially colors and flavorings in it.

This time, I am reviewing MarketSpice Tea in Cinnamon Orange. Marketspice Tea was established in 1911, and originated in Seattle’s Historic Pike Place Market. The Cinnamon Orange is their signature tea.

I tried this tea two different ways- a lighter brewed iced tea, and a darker brewed hot tea. I did not like this tea at all when I left it to steep in hot water, It was very strong. Though, I take the blame of that on myself, I probably left it in the water too long. However, When I let this steep only for a little bit (1-2 minutes) and then made it into iced tea, it was wonderful.

Though this tea reminds me a lot of the holiday season, probably from the cinnamon in it, the orange really steps it up and makes it suitable to drink any time of the year.
This is a Black tea, not a Green Tea, which I prefer. I know a lot of people prefer Black over green, and I am one of them. I was almost surprised when I read the ingredients and found out this contains no sugar! The natural sweetness of the orange gives it a sweet flavor.

I will certainly be checking out MarketSpice Tea’s other flavors!

Review: Quinn Popcorn

I had the pleasure of eating the most delicious popcorn I have ever had in my life today. I have Quinn Popcorn to thank for that!

I was very intrigued by this popcorn… it is definitely not your average microwave popcorn. Quinn Popcorn uses a “Three Step System” in preparing your great tasting snack!
First, you pop the corn. Then, you add in the Sunflower Oil, which is high Oleic. Then you add in your flavoring packet.

I received three different flavors: Vermont Maple and sea Salt, Parmesan and Rosemary, & Just Sea Salt. My favorite flavor that I received is the Vermont Maple and Sea Salt. I love kettle corn, the sweet and salty mix, but this flavor knocks it out of the ball park! The blend of flavors that this popcorn contains is absolutely amazing! Add in the maple flavor, and I think I have found the most perfect popcorn!

Quinn Popcorn uses Non-GMO and Organic Popcorn. They use no hydrogenated oil, no preservatives, no diacetyl, and no PFOA’s. It is also Gluten Free.

They also use a bag completely made from paper. There are no chemical coatings and no “scary stuff”. It is also completely compostable. So not only is Quinn popcorn better for you, it’s better for the environment!

Review: Diego's

I was able to review Diego's Hot and Spicy Chips. You know me with Spicy though... I thought that these would be hot for me to handle. I was very surprised, I was expecting a chip that was all heat and zero flavor, I was wrong. Really wrong.

I was sent two flavors to try, Red Chili and Habanero. Obviously, the Habanero was WAY more spicy then the Red Chili, but the flavors in both were still really great. I have to say, flavor wise, I liked the Habanero better, but in order for me to eat more than a handful at a time, I would have to have a big glass of milk to cut the burn. Red Chili also had good flavor, and way less heat than the Habanero. I just preferred the flavor of the Habanero more.

Both were winner's in my brothers opinion. He loves Spicy foods. He was able to eat almost the whole bag of Habanero, and said he also preferred the flavor of that one over the Red Chili.

Everyone loves potato chips, and these would be perfect for the spice lover in your life. I know my husband and my brother both loved these chips and wanted more!

I would recommend these to anyone who loves spicy flavor packed snacks!

I cannot even begin to describe to you the great flavors that I have tried when I was trying out Big Slice!
Big Slice is pouches of kettle cooked apples, they are almost a mixture of apple pie filling and applesauce, except the flavor spins on them are amazing! They come in three collections, with 16 different flavors; The Pure collection: Chai, Blueberry pomegranate, Cherry Vanilla, Lemon Berry, Orange Ginger, Apricot, and Natural. The Fit Collection: Pineapple Passion Fruit and Fiber, Raspberry Hibiscus and Green Coffee Extract, Peach green tea and Aloe, & Banana Mango and Hemp Seed! I was able to try 8 different flavors, and out of the ones that I received, The Pineapple Passion fruit and the Cinnamon French toast were my absolute favorite! The flavors only enhance the apples, they do not cover up the apple taste. I love these!

Best of all, They contain no GMO's are made only with USA Apples, they contain no High Fructose Corn Syrup, are a great source of Vitamin C, are naturally Gluten and Fat Free, and are Vegan! What a great snack!

Review: Pretzel Crisps®

I was given the chance to review Pretzel Crisps! I have to say, I had seen these in stores, but had only ever tried the Original ones. So I was very excited to find out that there are so many flavors! They have: Honey Mustard and Onion, Buffalo Wing, Chipotle Cheddar, Sesame, Jalapeno Jack, Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Everything, and Original! I was very surprised by the large variety.

As of late, these have become one of my favorite snacks. With all the different flavors, you can either eat them alone or with dip. My mom's favorite way to eat them is with Spinach Dip, but I prefer to eat eat them just by themselves. They are great either way.

They taste like pretzels, but they are crispy like a chip! This has got to be the best way to eat Pretzels.

My favorite flavor was the Garlic Parmesan, but another favorite in my house was the Jalapeno Jack. They now offer Mini's as well!
As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, I am always looking for great portable snack ideas for my clients to help them maintain or achieve a healthy lifestyle. Pretzels Crisps® are a great alternative to potato chips and other snack foods. They contain 110 calories per serving and 0-2 grams of fat (10-11 crisps) compared with 150 calories and 10 gram of fat (1 g saturated) per one ounce serving for potato chips.
The American Dietetic Association and American Heart Association recommend that the public should not consume trans fat and keep saturated fat consumption to a minimum. The American Heart Association recommends that individuals attain five to nine serving of fruits and vegetables daily, as well. Studies show that trans fat and saturated fat contribute to heart disease and raising bad cholesterol levels. Unfortunately, the majority of my clients, as well as most Americans, find it difficult to reduce their calorie and fat intake without sacrificing taste. Pretzel Crisps® are a great option for my clients to maintain a heart healthy, low calorie diet.
For those with special medical needs like diabetes and/or high cholesterol, Pretzels Crisps® does not contain trans or saturated fats and have only 21-23 grams of carbohydrate per serving (1 ½ carbohydrate exchanges). People with diabetes can easily fit Pretzel Crisps® in carbohydrate meal plan as a snack or with a meal and not raise blood glucose levels dramatically. They also do not contain any saturated and trans fat so they a great choice for those following a diet to reduce their cholesterol and manage their heart health.
Pretzel Crisps® easily fit in car glove compartments, lockers, backpacks, purses and desk drawers, making them great for travel or the “on the go” busy professional. These low fat and low calorie treats never sacrifice taste and definitely satisfy that “salt craving” we all house. Pretzel Crisps® come in a variety of different flavors so you never get bored. You can also add these crunchy and versatile snacks to your favorite yogurt, as a salad topper or create something new on your own. Have fun with them. I know I do.
