Review and Giveaway: Uncovering Cobbogoth (Book Blast)
Uncovering Cobbogoth by Hannah L. Clark
Norah Lukens needs to uncover the truth about the fabled lost city of Cobbogoth. After her archaeologist uncle’s murder, Norah is asked to translate his old research journal for evidence and discovers that his murder was a cover-up for something far more sinister.
When she turns to neighbor and only friend James Riley for help, she realizes that not only is their bitter-sweet past haunting her every step, but James is keeping dangerous secrets. Can Norah discover what they are before its too late to share her own.
Praise for Uncovering Cobbogoth
"With a fascinating protagonist in Norah Lukens, a fully realized, never before seen fantasy world, and a fast paced, compelling story, Uncovering Cobbogoth establishes Hannah L. Clark as a major new voice in American fiction. The richness of the story and the scope of the world she's created screams for a film adaptation. This is a fantasy novel for everyone, even readers not usually drawn to the genre. Highly, highly recommended!"
-Bryce Clark, author of Red Shirt Kids
"This book takes you on a wonderful ride, bringing myth and legend to life. The characters are full and flawed, with a sweet romance woven through the adventure."
- Annette K. Larsen, author of Just Ella
"Uncovering Cobbogoth is an Icelandic tale that will appeal to many Harry Potter series fans […] For those who’ve missed the Harry Potter world, here’s a pretty good alternative!"
- Sharon Haddock, For the Deseret News
"This isn't a typical YA fantasy/scifi/para story like the multitude of vampire or witch or werewolf or mermaid themes that fill bookshelves in stores currently. When after a couple of chapters it became apparent that this wasn't yet another entry into the aforementioned themes, I was downright giddy. And then to find out there wasn't a standard issue love triangle? I wanted to find the author and buy her dinner."
-Radar626, Amazon reviewer
"A friend of mine recommended this book […] I checked it out and I was so pleased! I love this book. I can't wait to read the next one [...] and I am encouraging my daughter to read it as well. If you like fantasy with a little mix of science this book is perfect. I had such a hard time putting this book down just so I could deal with real life and working on promoting my own book. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book."
-Pamela Hall, author
Excerpt
The Legend of the Cobbogothians is really where Uncovering Cobbogoth begins. For as long as Norah can remember, her Uncle Jack has been obsessed with the mythical people. He became an archeologist and world famous Myth-chaser because of the Cobbogothian legends he heard while visiting his Granddad Aegissida’s farm in Iceland.
The Legend of the Cobbogothians
Long ago, at the beginning of time, a peculiar race ruled the earth. They found favor in the eyes of the gods and received great gifts of knowledge and power at their hands. These gifts made them elementalists—masters of earth, wind, fire, water, metal, wood and space. The elementalists thenceforth became rulers of the earth and sky.
With this power came corruption, and the elementalists soon forgot their patron gods. Instead, they turned to worshipping themselves and their own creations. This angered the gods, and in their wrath, the vowed to bring an icy end to the prideful race.
Rumors of the looming destruction were heralded throughout the land, and a final invitation was issued to the elementalists to renounce their fallen ways. Yet only a few heard and heeded. Among them was a man named Cobbogoth. Being a wise and humble servant of the gods, he believed the warnings and led all who would listen deep into the bowels of the earth to wait out the approaching storm.
When the day of destruction was come and the wrath of the gods rained down, the race of elementalists was wiped away, and then came the dawning of a violent and frigid ide age.
It is said that Cobbogoth’s posterity still lives beneath our feet, waiting to rise and rule the earth and sky once more.

Author Hannah L. Clark
Hannah L. Clark lives with her husband and their son in the Rocky Mountains. She has always known she would be a storyteller. In 2006 she graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor’s degree in English and immediately began writing Uncovering Cobbogoth, the first book in a seven book series based on Clark's mythological brain-child, the Icelandic Legend of the Cobbogothians.
Clark loves her family, running, mythology, laughing, soulful bluegrass music, road-trips, studying alternative medicine, retro hairdos, and growing things. Like her heroine Norah, she also kind of believes trees have souls, but must clarify (for her parents' sakes) that she was not raised by hippies. ;-)

Review: Aurorae Candle
Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your
experience may differ.
“Light the candle,
breathe, and focus with an open mind.”
I don’t know if I have talked about this on my blog yet or
not, but now seems about as good of a time as any. I have many
addictions/obsessions in my life. No, nothing “serious”. I have no vices that
could eventually kill me. I love a lot of different things, which means I end
up having a plethora of those things. Everyone knows that I am a makeup
fanatic, a perfume hoarder, and a lover of all beautiful things, and candles
are no exception. I have tons of candles, and candle warmers, wax melts, tea
lights, votives, pillar… just about any type of candle you can imagine… I have
it.
When I was given the opportunity to review a Pledge Candle
from Aurorae, I was so happy. Then when I got it in the mail, I was even happier.
I received the candle in Harmony (lavender), and though Lavender is not my
favorite scent, it still smells great. These pledge candles come in a lot of
other scents, including the Harmony (lavender) one I received:
Compassion (Vanilla)
Healing (Eucalyptus)
Patience (Rose)
Love (Chocolate)
Creativity (Cinnamon)
Peace (Tropical)
Perseverance (Ocean)
Spirit (Passion raspberry)
Each candle is 6.8 oz, and made from 100% soy wax. I love
soy wax candles, because I think they smell better than regular candles. They
will burn anywhere from 30-35 hours, are non toxic and smokeless, and come in a
recyclable tin. Though, the tine is recyclable, I plan on “recycling” it
myself- by peeling off the labels and cleaning out the inside, I think this
would be the perfect size to put on my vanity to keep cotton balls, or cotton
swabs dust free, and at arms reach.
These candles are meditation candles. They are made with the
intention of helping you concentrate on a specific state of mind while
meditating.
Aurorae sells the best reviewed yoga mats, yoga apparel, and yoga and meditation accessories online. You can browse their yoga mats, yoga bags, yoga apparel and other yoga accessories here.

Review & Giveaway: MarketSpice Tea
Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.
a Rafflecopter giveaway
Everyone who has visited my blog already knows that I am a tea fanatic. I would so much rather be drinking a glass of ice-cold tea, than a glass of pop. I suppose this is a good thing, because tea has many natural health benefits, while pop is basically pure sugar with artificially colors and flavorings in it.
This time, I am reviewing MarketSpice Tea in Cinnamon Orange. Marketspice Tea was established in 1911, and originated in Seattle’s Historic Pike Place Market. The Cinnamon Orange is their signature tea.
I tried this tea two different ways- a lighter brewed iced tea, and a darker brewed hot tea. I did not like this tea at all when I left it to steep in hot water, It was very strong. Though, I take the blame of that on myself, I probably left it in the water too long. However, When I let this steep only for a little bit (1-2 minutes) and then made it into iced tea, it was wonderful.
Though this tea reminds me a lot of the holiday season, probably from the cinnamon in it, the orange really steps it up and makes it suitable to drink any time of the year.
This is a Black tea, not a Green Tea, which I prefer. I know a lot of people prefer Black over green, and I am one of them. I was almost surprised when I read the ingredients and found out this contains no sugar! The natural sweetness of the orange gives it a sweet flavor.
I will certainly be checking out MarketSpice Tea’s other flavors!

Review & Giveaway: Polar Opposites (Book Blast)
Polar Opposites: Super Villain Academy #2
The supers are balanced. Academies have altered their curriculum to teach both sides of the super power spectrum. All’s well in the super world. Right?
When Mystic kidnaps Oceanus, Jeff learns it isn’t all right. Turning to the newly balanced supers for assistance, he panics to find they’ve done nothing to rescue Oceanus. When no ransom request follows, he worries Mystic’s plan never included returning his girlfriend. Frustrated, he’s forced to work with the only super willing to help. Oceanus’ ex-villain, ex-boyfriend, Set.
Mystic isn’t the only one hiding something. Nothing about Jeff is balanced. Temper flares result in scorched clothing or flying furniture, and his charm has become an indiscriminating people-magnet.
Jeff is convinced, or maybe just hopeful, that his lack of control is directly related to Oceanus being gone. But will he and Set find her before Jeff loses control completely and will they find her alive?
Excerpt
They never talked about how they ended the world. Twice. Jeff glanced at Oceanus, bent over her phone in the passenger seat of his car. A curtain of black hair shielded her profile from view, but he thought he saw her smile.
He reached over and tucked her hair behind an ear. Yep, she was smiling. So was he. He felt his skin heat, but not as a side-effect of his super power ability to create fire. This heat was due to thoughts of Oci running her small warm hands down his back and tilting her face up to accept his kiss.
“ How about a movie?” Oceanus asked.
“ Which one?” Jeff replied, scanning the traffic and then his girlfriend.
Oci’s thin arms, delicate wrists, and bird-like legs that barely reached the floorboards, all gave the impression she needed protection and caring for. Whereas, with her super strength, she could lift the car they drove in onto two wheels if someone were trapped underneath.
“ Oh, perfect!” Oceanus flung her hair over her shoulder and straightened in her seat. Her smile illuminated Jeff’s peripheral vision as he concentrated on traffic. “The one I want to see starts in forty-five minutes. That gives us plenty of time to get there, get popcorn and some good seats, and watch the previews. I love the previews, don’t you?”
Jeff glanced at her again. The devilish glint in her eye made him frown. “What movie?”
Oceanus peeked through thick black lashes. Jeff was pretty sure she even batted them a bit. “What movie, Oci?”
“ Accidental Hero.” At Jeff’s groan, Oceanus chuckled. “Come on, you have to admit the storyline looks kinda familiar. Besides, the special effects look amazing. You love that crap.”
Jeff stared at the traffic and said nothing. He knew it was useless. He could mount the best argument against seeing the movie, but Oceanus always got her way. Cursing his Oceanus-shaped soft spot, he turned at the next intersection and headed toward the theater.
The whiny guitar tones of the heavy metal song Super Villain erupted from his cell phone. He looked at the display and saw Mother’s number. “Can you answer that?”
Reaching for his phone, Oceanus said, “You know, now that we aren’t technically super villains anymore, you should consider changing your ringtone.”
King of Bad: Super Villain Academy #1
Jeff Mean would rather set fires than follow rules or observe curfew. He wears his bad boy image like a favorite old hoodie; that is until he learns he has superpowers and is recruited by Super Villain Academy – where you learn to be good at being bad. In a school where one kid can evaporate all the water from your body and the girl you hang around with can perform psychic sex in your head, bad takes on a whole new meaning. Jeff wonders if he’s bad enough for SVA.
He may never find out. Classmates vilify him when he develops good manners. Then he’s kidnapped by those closest to him and left to wonder who is good and who is bad. His rescue is the climactic episode that balances good and evil in the super world. The catalyst – the girl he’s crushing on. A girlfriend and balancing the Supers is good, right? Or is it…bad?

Review & Giveaway: True Colors (Book Blast)
True Colors
Landry Albright enters a modeling competition with her two best friends, but runs into jealousy when she advances to the next level without them. Enter the gorgeous Devon, who also makes the first cut of the modeling contest. Devon seems like the perfect new best friend, but can their friendship survive the competition? Throw in a new boy, jealousy and loyalty issues, and insults from hair stylists. How’s a girl to deal?
Excerpt
The competition was for girls between the ages of thirteen and seventeen, but it felt like Ericka, Tori, and I were the youngest ones there. I only saw a couple of girls from school, and the lineup looked more like something you’d see on a music video set. All the girls were gorgeous, and they had these curvy womanly bodies. I looked like a skinny little kid next to them. The first girl walked out, and I heard the judges say she “owned the runway,” and, “walked like a gazelle.” I was starting to feel ill. I wasn’t sure which way it was going to come, but I knew I had to find a bathroom — fast. I started to get out of line when Ericka grabbed my wrist.
“It’s almost time,” she said. A tiny bit of spit flew out of her mouth and hit my cheek.
I wasn’t sure why she was so intent on me going through with it, but she had a death grip on my arm, so I didn’t have much of a choice. Her number was called and she walked out to the stage. One of the other girls said she walked like a kid with sand bucket stilts on her feet, but she came back with a smirk on her face like she knew she’d get chosen.
“They said they had never seen such long legs,” she said.
Tori was next.
“She walks like a gorilla at feeding time,” said the girl behind me. I went next, and I tried to focus on not tripping over my feet. My mom’s pumps had a rubber sole on the bottom, which probably wasn’t the brightest idea seeing as my shoes were making squeaking noises as I walked. I was so nervous I couldn’t stop smiling as I walked. I looked like the plastic clown who blows up balloons with its mouth at the Pizza Palace. When I got to the end of the runway, I tried to cross my feet to turn like the other girls had, but I over rotated and ended up doing a full spin which made my kilt fan out and gave the mall walkers a view of my blue underpants. I tried to act like it was intentional and did an extra turn. One of the judges put her hand up to stop me, and I held my breath as she started to speak.

Review and Giveaway: Sweetleaf
Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.
My husband and I both love water enhancers. Especially in the summer time. They are also a lot better for you most of the time than drinking soda. I was really excited to try out Sweetleaf products, because they are made with Stevia! I was sent quite a few flavors to try, as well as two packs of Sweetleaf's stevia packets.
I loved the packets of the sweetener. This was great in drinks! I also tried it on berries. These are REALLY sweet. one little packet is the equivalent of 2 teaspoons of sugar. They contain Zero- calories, carbs and glycemic index. Have no artificial ingredients, and no bitterness or aftertaste that you get with a lot of sweeteners. I would use these over regular sugar any day.
The Sweetdrops I was sent, were awesome. I was sent 6 different flavors to try: Cola, Vanilla Creme, Peppermint, Berry, Lemon Drop and Valencia Orange. They come in more than 20 different flavors; something for everyone! My absolute favorite was the Peppermint! Or it was so good in Iced Tea! My husband however thought the Berry was the best. The Vanilla creme was probably a close second favorite of mine, I tried it in a coffee type drink. YUM! These again have Zero carbs, calories or glycemic index! I have tried a lot of water enhancers, and I really liked this one the most. a few drops and you have perfectly flavored water, or tea, or whatever you want. With the others, it seems like I have to add half of the bottle to make it taste good at all.
The Sweetdrops Cola can be added to Sparkling water, to make a great tasting alternative to soda!

Review and Giveaway: Sid The Science Kid
Disclosure: I received the products below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Sid the Science Kid: Now That’s Using Your Brain

Review & Giveaway: Enjoy Hair Care
Hosted By: Little Helpers in Life
Disclosure: I received one or more products or monetary composition for the exchange for my honest opinion. I only recommend product that I would use personally or believe would be a good fit with my readers. All opinions are 100 percent my own and may differ from yours. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
I will be honest. I have A LOT of hair, but my hair is crazy. Most days it is just super flat. Making me just throw it up in a pony tail. I have natural waves and curls, but because my hair is so flat. I can't do much with it. I have tried EVERYTHING, and nothing seems to help keep my hair the way I would like it for more then twenty minutes after I am done doing it.
I have been lucky enough to try Enjoy hair care. I was given the chance to try the Sulfate-Free Rejuvenating Volumizing Trio. I was so excited to see how fast this product would work with my terrible hair. I opened the package, and as my son napped I decided it was definitely shower time. I took a shower, and washed my hair as directed. Just with the shampoo my hair had already started feeling so much better. Not weighted down like with my everyday shampoo.
I used the conditioner next. I did leave this in for about five minutes while I did the rest of my showering. I really like having my hair as soft as possible. After I was finished it felt so soft, and so much lighter. Like I washed chemical build up out of my hair.
I was also given mousse to try. So, I decided that I should try and do my hair how I would like even though I wasn't confident that it would hold for more then a half hour. To my surprise, my hair lasted all day until I had to pull it up when I went into the pool.
I overall was so impressed with Enjoy Hair Care. After multiple uses my hair feels more and more chemical free and less heavy. And since my hair is so long, it is literally like a huge weight off my shoulders. I will definitely be continuing to use these products.

Last month's glasses were great, but this month really blew it out of the water, for me anyway. These glasses that I received would be something I would pick up in the store, but I got them sent to me from Stunner of the Month instead!
I cannot believe how sturdy these feel, especially for how inexpensive Stunner's service is! Only $9.00 a month. No way could you get a pair of glasses this awesome for $9.00 at the store. I loved the design!
A subscription to Stunner of the Month would be a perfect gift for a Grad, or even for yourself!

Review: Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Spray Paint, and DIY Project
Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your
experience may differ.
I love to DIY. Though I don't exactly consider myself artistic, or really that talented, I do enjoy taking old things, and making them look new, and better than they did before. One of my favorite things to do, is paint old bottles, or ugly figurines one solid color. You can take anything and paint it a solid color and it takes on a whole new look. I decided to share with you a project that I was able to easily save half of the time I would normally spend on something like this, just because of one product- Rust-oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Paint and Primer.
I found an empty wine bottle sitting on my counter, and decided to revamp it a little bit. I love the look of groups of these together, when they are all painted, or even as an over sized bud vase.
You can use any old bottle for this, even an empty beer bottle.
First: Wash the bottle out, you don't want anything but a nice clean bottle on the inside. The last thing you want is your decor smelling like alcohol.
Second: Peel off as much of the labels as you can get off. This works better if you run the label under hot water. The sticky residue left over you can either try to clean off with a multi purpose cleaner, or use a product like, Goo Gone. I used Goo Gone. It's easier. You can pick some up at any local store.
Third: Now that the labels and sticky gunk is off from your bottle, wash the outside of it. You don't want any sort of oils stuck to the glass.
Last: Once the bottle is clean and dry, take it to a well ventilated area, and spray paint it. You want to hold the can 10-16 inches away from your bottle. Let your bottle dry completely.
Now, Usually I have to do 2-3 coats of spray paint to get the coverage I like on a bottle like this. I was so surprised once it was dry, and I picked it up, that I didn't even NEED a second coat! Seriously, if you have any kind of project you need paint for, this is totally worth the money. This is easily like having 2-3 cans of regular spray paint!
This Spray Paint also bonds to- Plastic, wood, metal and more!
