Review and Giveaway: Sweetleaf

Disclaimer: I received these items in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to post a positive review. These are my honest opinions. Your experience may differ.

My husband and I both love water enhancers. Especially in the summer time. They are also a lot better for you most of the time than drinking soda. I was really excited to try out Sweetleaf products, because they are made with Stevia! I was sent quite a few flavors to try, as well as two packs of Sweetleaf's stevia packets.

I loved the packets of the sweetener. This was great in drinks! I also tried it on berries. These are REALLY sweet. one little packet is the equivalent of 2 teaspoons of sugar. They contain Zero- calories, carbs and glycemic index. Have no artificial ingredients, and no bitterness or aftertaste that you get with a lot of sweeteners. I would use these over regular sugar any day.

The Sweetdrops I was sent, were awesome. I was sent 6 different flavors to try: Cola, Vanilla Creme, Peppermint, Berry, Lemon Drop and Valencia Orange. They come in more than 20 different flavors; something for everyone! My absolute favorite was the Peppermint! Or it was so good in Iced Tea! My husband however thought the Berry was the best. The Vanilla creme was probably a close second favorite of mine, I tried it in a coffee type drink. YUM! These again have Zero carbs, calories or glycemic index! I have tried a lot of water enhancers, and I really liked this one the most. a few drops and you have perfectly flavored water, or tea, or whatever you want. With the others, it seems like I have to add half of the bottle to make it taste good at all.

The Sweetdrops Cola can be added to Sparkling water, to make a great tasting alternative to soda!

Review: Zevia

I am a huge Pop (Soda) drinker. It is one of my biggest downfalls. I try to drink diet when I can, but then I have to deal with Aspartame most of the time. It's a never ending cycle. I was so happy when I stumbled across Zevia, while searching the web.

Zevia is a Zero Calorie Soda with No Sugar and No Artificial Sweeteners. It is Vegan, Kosher and Gluten Free.

I was sent several different kinds to try. My favorite was the Cherry Cola. The only one I didn't like was the Cream Soda. My second favorite was the Grapefruit Citrus, it tasted just like Squirt.

Zevia is available in 15 different flavors! Wow!

Zevia uses a combination of Stevia, and Monk Fruit extract to sweeten their sodas, they call it SmartSweet.

Not to mention, and I compare the two cans of soda in front of me, one being Zevia's Grapefruit Citrus (The empty can) and the other being a popular Diet soda... Zevia also has less sodium! This is huge for my husband and I because we tend to eat way more sodium than we should. He loved Zevia.

Review & Giveaway: Dutch Country Pantry

I was sent two different products from Dutch Country Pantry; Shoofly Pie and Birch Beer. I had never tried anything like either of these products before. The Birch Beer was my favorite out of the two products. It was similar to Root Beer, but not quite the same. It had a very good flavor to it. Even my grandfather liked it and he is very picky.
This Lancaster County-produced Birch Beer is the real deal! Refreshingly peppy, try some of this popular soft drink and you will agree with most people that this even tops root beer. It's very enjoyable on a hot summer afternoon, and much more authentic than Coke or Pepsi. Better yet, try a birch beer float with ice cream and ahhh... what a treat. 6 pack/12 oz. cans.
Ing. Carbonated Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Caramel Color, Salt, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Gum Acadia, and Red #40.
The shoofly pie was very different than I expected it to be. I expected it to be overly sweet, but it wasn't. This was a very delicious pie. The crust was perfect, with a gooey center and a crumb topping. Super yummy!

This is the real, authentic old fashioned, wet-bottom shoofly pie, homemade right here in Bird-in-Hand, and in a convenient pack of 2 pies. Each 9" pie gives about seven servings of this traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dessert with a gooey bottom, cake-like middle, and crumb topping. For those of us who have that irresistible sweet tooth, Wet-Bottom Shoofly Pie is, without doubt, a "must have". Absolutely, positively delicious with coffee and ice cream, the shoofly pie is by far the most popular dessert made by the Amish here in Lancaster County! If you are like us, you'll find it's hard to stop with just one slice.
Pies are individually packed in a white bakery box of heavy cardboard, then packed in yet another heavy cardboard box for safe shipping. We try to avoid shipping shoofly pie over the weekend, to avoid the package sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. If you order this shoofly pie later in the week, we may wait to ship your package until the following Monday. Whether we wait to ship it or not depends on shipping time to your zip code.
Ing. Molasses, Water, Eggs, Sugar, Flour, Salt, Soda, Vegetable Shortening, Cream of Tartar. Crust: Flour, Vegetable Shortening, Water, Eggs, Salt, Vinegar, Baking Powder

Dutch Country Pantry offers a wide variety of yummy treats and food products!

They have also offered my readers a giveaway! I have chosen to giveaway the Birch Beer!

Review: Ale 8 One

You've heard me talking about my weakness for salty snacks- but I also have another one... Pop, or Soda, depending on what part of the country you live in. But, Generally speaking, I am fairly picky about the pop that I drink. I do not like the famous caffeine packed bright green soda that everyone seems to rave about. Yeah, you know the one. I also am not a fan of Colas. Now, with that being said, I love Ginger Ale.

Ever since I was little my mom would give me ginger ale to settle my upset stomach, and ever since then, I have loved it. I have tried many different brands and varieties and I think Ale 8 One is one of the best, if not the absolute best Ginger Ale I have ever tried. It tastes like ginger Ale, yet it is different. It has a nutty spice to it, kind of like a spice cake. At least I thought so anyway. Everyone in my household tried it, and everyone agreed, It was delicious!

I received the Diet Ale 8 one, which is sweetened with Splenda (No Aspartame!). It has Zero sugars, calories, or carbs.
Expanding the distribution territory was followed by expanding the product line. Diet Ale 8 was introduced and Rogers’s oldest son, Fielding, was named vice president of the family business in 2003. The formula for Diet Ale 8 was perfected after years of extensive research and development. Diet Ale 8 was the first new product from the company since Ale-8-One was launched in 1926. State-of-the-art sweeteners, including sucralose (Splenda®), were chosen for their qualities to sweeten without leaving the aftertaste commonly associated with aspartame. Further, Diet Ale 8 contains no calories or aspartame.

Review: Cascade Ice Water

Cascade Ice is something that everyone should try, especially if you love to drink soda! It is a fizzy drink, and it tastes great, but it is WAY better than regular soda for you! I received 5 different flavors to try, Coconut, Lemonade, Macintosh Apple, Orange Mango, and Blueberry Watermelon. Out of those five, the Macintosh Apple was my favorite. In total, they have 21 flavors! What a variety!
I think what made it my favorite was, it didn't taste like "fake" apple, it tasted exactly like when you bite into a crisp apple and the juice spurts into your mouth. Fresh and clean. Living in Michigan, surrounded by apple orchards (at least in my part of the state) we take our apples very seriously.
  • Cascade Ice waters are free of unnecessary and unhealthy “extras” found in other flavored waters like calories, sodium, caffeine, gluten and sugar. Compared to many popular soda brands which can contain upwards of 38 grams of sugar,Cascade Ice beverages are sugar-free and full of flavor.
  • Cascade Ice has 21 delicious and unique flavors including Cranberry Pomegranate, McIntosh Apple and Orange Mango in addition to the line’s three newest flavors, Strawberry Banana, Coconut Mango and Coconut Pineapple. The sparkling waters have a delightful “fizz” combined with natural fruit juices.
  • Cascade Ice is available for purchase in all 50 states, at retailers such as Albertson’s, Safeway, Ralph’s, QFC, A&P, Raley’s, Coborn’s, HEB, Market Basket, Shoprite, Food City and Price Choppers, among many others. Click here for a full map of retailer: http://cascadeicewater.com/wtb.html
Cascade Ice water contains Zero Sugar, caffeine, sodium, gluten, or carbs! It's great for people who are trying to cut out soda as part of a diet, but still want to be able to have carbonated drinks!
